Anti-Shopaholism campaign …BUY?BYE!

My topic is SHOPAHOLISM, which can be also called as a “compulsive buying”, “shopping addiction”, “compulsive desire to shop” etc.

The main processes which generate conflicts in shopaholics are: emotional deprivation in childhood; avoiding to face a grief; trying to appear perfect outside; need to fill an inner void; inability to control emotions; approval seeking; seeking excitement at being the first to buy a thing; afraid of throwing stuff away and start sorting.

Cause problems: mental distress, personal life, financial and interpersonal difficulties, reduce the amount of fresh air, asthma and other chronic diseases.

Strategy

Goal – to influence in a positive direction

Visual communication tool – display wristband

How will it work? Person will tap the device and set a Motivational Quote. The Motivational Quotes are Anti-Consumer: “Do I need this or do I just want it?”, “All I need is less”, “I am enough”, “I have everything, I should stop buying”, “Spend it wisely” etc, can work as a hypnosis on a person.

How will it help? Person will wear it on his wrist day and night. It is the motivation he needs to get out and be more active.
